The annual emergency preparedness checkup for autism and special needs families.
The September 26th Project was started by the family and friends of Feda and Mohmand Almaliti. Feda Almaliti was an autism activist that fiercely fought for treatment and services for her 16-year-old son Mohmand who had autism. On September 26, 2020, Feda and Mohmand’s home caught fire. Feda, her sister, and her niece escaped the fire, but Feda ran back into the burning house to save her son, Mohmand. Sadly, both of their lives were lost in the fire.
Feda and Mohmand’s family continue to honor their memory through the September 26th Project. They aim to provide families with checklists to prepare for potential disasters and ways to keep individuals with special needs.
Please honor their memory and keep your family safe by taking 10 minutes to complete their checklists.
